Haydon Kerk, Pittman join forces

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, Waterbury, Conn., and Pittman Motors, Kent, Ohio, are now business units of Ametek Precision Motion Control, Kent, Ohio. Products offered by the two include dc brush and brushless motors, linear actuators, precision leadscrews, motorized and non-motorized linear-rail and guide systems, drives, and controllers, as well as gearboxes, encoders, and brakes.

Gilman USA under new ownership

Gilman USA, a provider of mechanical slides and spindles, is under new ownership. The company, previously known as SKF Precision Technologies, was purchased by Christopher Hetzer, Mark Ziebell, and Michael Weiland. Hetzer, CEO, and Ziebell, CFO, have been with the company since 1977 and 2000 respectively. Weiland, COO, who joined the company in September, previously worked at Albany Door Systems and General Motors. In 2012 and beyond, Gilman USA will expand its spindle and slide repair service for virtually any manufacturer's equipment, continue to service the machine tool industry, and explore markets such as pharmaceutical, packaging, food, and medical.
