Spectris to acquire Omega Engineering
Spectris plc, an instrumentation and controls company based in Egham, England, announces an agreement to acquire the Omega Engineering Inc., Stamford, Conn. Omega supplies process measurement and control instrumentation to several industries, including automation, wireless, test and measurement, process control, power monitoring, environmental, and lab equipment. Founded in 1962, Omega offers more than 100,000 components for measuring temperature, pressure, flow, level, strain, humidity, pH, and conductivity, as well as a comprehensive line of data acquisition, electric heating, and custom engineered products. Spectris operates across four business segments, including materials analysis, test and measurement, inline instrumentation, and industrial controls. Dunkermotor acquires Copley Motion Systems
Dunkermotoren GmbH, based in Germany and the parent of Dunkermotoren USA Inc. (Dunkermotor), Elgin, Ill., has acquired Copley Motion Systems (CMS), based in the U.K. CMS manufactures linear motor systems and direct drives, and is the inventor of the tubular linear motor. The CMS business will be known as Dunkermotoren Linear Systems.
Dunkermotor manufactures configurable, customized products based on brushed and brushless dc motors with integrated power and control electronics and fieldbus interfaces.
