At this year's Hannover Fair, held during April in Hannover, Germany, the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) received a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, William Timken. The certificate recognized the association's two decades of support to its members, enabling them to exhibit at the technology fair.

Since PTDA first launched visits to Hannover Fair in 1987, dozens of member companies have attended. Beginning in 1989, the association gave members the opportunity to attend as part of the PTDA Pavilion, a cost-saving way to take part in the exhibition. This year, the pavilion hosted 15 member exhibitors in one of eight halls dedicated to power transmission. More than 230,000 visitors attended the show this year, an increase of 10% over 2005.

In October, PTDA's Industry Summit — an education and networking event for power transmission/motion control companies — will be held at the Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert, Calif. This year's theme is built around James Bond, Agent 007, with sessions such as “Live and Let Die: Communicate, Collaborate, Innovate” and “For Your Eyes Only: Envision the Economic Future.” For more PTDA news, visit www.ptda.org and www.motionsystemdesign.com.
