Gel metal finishes - Birchwood Casey

July 31, 2010
The gels brush on many metals and cure at room temperature.

Presto Black Gel brushes on for a uniform, room-temperature finish on metal surfaces including iron, steel, copper, brass, and bronze. The gel clings to vertical surfaces, stays where applied without forming runs or drips or bleeding onto adjoining surfaces, and cures in 5 to 10 min. Surface cleaning to remove oil, oxides and welding flux is required prior to application. The gel is compatible with clear topcoats such as satin-gloss urethane lacquers and paste wax.
Presto Gel comes in: Presto Black Gel for black on iron and steelwork; Antique Black Gel for black on copper, brass and bronze parts; Antique Brown Gel for brown on copper, brass and bronze parts. All of the products come in 1-gal. and 5-gal. containers.
