PC Worx is an automation software package from Phoenix Contact Inc., Harrisburg, Pa., that combines IEC61131-3 standards and Windows NT into one control-software package. PC Worx provides programming, configuration, monitoring, and diagnostics of an Interbus system. The PC Worx package consists of System Worx and Program Worx. System Worx defines the configuration, assigns I/O addresses, and stores the configuration on the Interbus controller board. It also offers comprehensive diagnostic capabilities for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Program Worx is IEC61131-3-based software used to create the application-control program. After compilation, the program is downloaded to the FC or RFC controller where it runs on a dedicated runtime system. The languages the software supports are Instruction List (IL), Function Block (FB), Ladder Logic (LD), Structured Text (ST), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). PC Worx offers an OPC-compliant interface.
