Caged Technology Smooths Actuator Moves

Sept. 1, 2005
Type KLM actuators employ Caged Technology in their guides.

A resin cage with a patented curvature cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Caged Technology also smooths movement and lowers noise and dust generation. Use of direct drive and fully closed control gives a positioning repeatability of ±0.3 m at speeds to 2.0 m/sec, and ay accelerations to 4.7 g. Type KLM actuators are interchangeable with Type SKRs.
