 The LBT Mini Full Ceramic bearings can run faster than metal bearings, reduce overall weight, and operate in extremely harsh environments. The ceramic silicon-nitride balls are harder and hold surface finish longer than steel balls. Smoother surface properties result in less friction between the balls and bearing-race surfaces. Improved thermal properties result in less heat buildup at high speeds. Ceramic is lighter, noncorrosive, and has 35% less thermal expansion and 50% less thermal conductivity. The ceramic bearings also eliminate scarring and run cooler due to less microweld adhesion.
