CFD Mesher Trims CAD Surfaces

CFD mesher Gridgen V15.07 has added to its geometrymodeling capabilities with trimmed-surface creation and IGES export.
June 16, 2005

Creating trimmed surfaces and adding or removing edges from surfaces solves a big CFD geometry problem: how to work with untrimmed or poorly trimmed CAD geometry. For analysts creating entire models within Gridgen or supplementing existing models with new geometry, more-complex and realistic models are now created using trimmed surfaces. Using the new IGES file export, analysts save analysis-ready geometry, including layers, names, colors, and other organizational data, in a CAD-standard file format for reuse in other CAE disciplines such as structural mechanics, thermal, and electromagnetics.
