The Series 48M family of switches are vandal-resistant, according to the company. They have stainless-steel or brass nickel-plated housing and are panel-sealed to IP67. The RoHS-compliant switches have a housing diameter of 0.65 in. (16.49 mm). They come in electromechanical and solid-state (Hall-effect) versions in momentary or maintained action. Illumination options include center-spot LED in a wide variety of colors, ring illumination, and nonlighted. The units mount into panel thicknesses from 1.5 (0.060 in.) to 3.0 mm (0.118 in.). The housings can be rated IP67 by mounting a sealing washer to the body of the switch before inserting it into the panel hole. A double-D flat prevents rotation. The switches operate in temperatures from –40 to 185°F and are tested to 500,000 cycles (momentary) and 100,000 cycles (maintained).
