Digital Signal Processor Targets Imaging

April 12, 2007
The TMS320C6454 digital signal processor targets high-end telecom, wireless infrastructure, and video and imaging applications.

With twice the memory and I/O bandwidth of its predecessor, the C6454 boosts performance without requiring additional software. The device hits 8,000 MMAC (million multiply accumulate cycles/sec) and gives four times the enhanced direct memory access throughput of the core of earlier devices. Additional features include 1-Mbyte L2 memory, Gigabit Ethernet, C64x+ core, and more DDR2 external memory and cache.
