Electronics fasteners - Penn Engineering

Self-clinching standoffs and right-angle fasteners ease compact electronics assembly.

PEM R’Angle fasteners create permanent right-angle attachment points in thin metal assemblies or printed circuit boards. RAA aluminum clinch fasteners install in aluminum sheets and accept thread-forming screws. RAS steel threaded fasteners install in aluminum or steel sheets. Both types work with sheets as thin as 0.040 in. and with thread sizes #4-40, #6-32, #8-32, and M3 and M4. ReelFast SMT fasteners install at the edge or interior of boards as thin as 0.040 in. prior to solder reflow. Thread sizes for mating screws range from #2-56 through #8-32 and M2 through M4.
PEM Type MSO4 micro self-clinching standoff fasteners permit spacing or stacking in electronic assemblies. The standoffs are 400 Series stainless steel and come with threads as small as #00 and in lengths as short as 0.080 in. They press into mounting holes in sheet metal including 300 Series stainless steel as thin as 0.016 in. with hardness up to HRB 88 using a punch and anvil. The permanent fasteners provide strong, reusable, load-bearing threads and can automatically installed.
