FEA Includes Checking Code From Steel Industry

June 16, 2005
Algor V17 features American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) code checking, tree support for surface and body loads, support for hyperfoam and anisotropic materials, rotating reference frames for modeling circulating flows, and combined graph and result contour displays.

AISC code checking facilitates designing steel structures of beams and trusses, and ensures code compliance to satisfy third-party approvals.

V17 also includes a streamlined electronic user's guide which makes it easy to find help, streamlined startup with improved launch screen and dialogs, and a ruler to display scale when viewing models. Additional features include expanded sketching capabilities, improved speed of Superdraw sketching, modeling and meshing support for anisotropic material properties in linear stress analysis, and new Mechanical Event Simulation (MES) capabilities such as support for hyperfoam materials.
