A modular hollow-shaft encoder offers extremely easy installation

HOLLOW-SHAFT ENCODERS

and is designed to provide two channels of incremental shaft position at 500 lines/rev in quadrature with an index pulse. This RS-422 output differential line driver device uses a single LED emitter/receiver for high reliability, as well as a sturdy glasscode disk mounted on an aluminum hub. The emitter/receiver assembly mounts to the motor using two screws. The low-profile design only adds 0.45 in. to the shaft length. Overall case diameter is 35 mm. Other sizes and resolution configurations are available.
