Hot-fill bottle technology - Amcor

Feb. 25, 2010
The technology uses less plastic.

Active-hinge hot-fill (185°F) bottle technology cuts weight and cost while offering better performance for 8, 10, and 16-oz PET containers. The technique uses 20% less material and costs 20% less than other methods. Horizontal hinges move vertically to absorb vacuum as the liquid cools for an attractive appearance and feel that approaches that of a straight-wall container. The active hinges also give the 31-g container high radial stiffness for more durability, dent resistance, and stacking strength.
