Hydraulic Cylinder

June 16, 2005
Hydraulic cylinder Series CST3 offers a contact-free absolute positionmeasurement system, simplifying positioning and open and closed-loop controlling of cylinders.

Users can select analog outputs with 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA or use the digital 24-bit, gray-coded SSI interface. Cylinder bores of 40 to 200 mm and piston-rod diameters of 28 to 140 mm for working pressure of 160 bar are available. Stroke lengths up to 1.5 m and five mounting types can be selected. The Series CST3 offers three seal systems: a standard one for most applications, one with reduced friction, and a third with heavyduty seals with reduced friction for high temperatures. The cylinders safety-bleed feature — a securing plate held by a locknut — prevents the sealing pin from being turned out completely. Target applications include the main, auxiliary, and feed movements in transfer lines, machine tools, and rotary indexing and honing machines, as well as in the paper, glassmaking, and stone industries.
