Linear-Arc Motors

July 27, 2006
Combining the technology of disk-drive voice-coil motors with that of more traditional brushless linear motors, the LARC Series of limited-arc motors target large-diameter limitedangle positioning applications.

The frameless design lets customers mount the coil and magnet track directly to their equipment. The units are driven by standard 3 brushless motor controllers from 24 to 300 V at speeds from 0.1 to 1,000 rpm. A low-profile option is only 10-mm thick and handles custom-arc diameters up to 800 mm. Torque output is specified at 15 lb-in./radial in. of arc.
