Low-Dropout Regulator ICs

Jan. 6, 2005
The SI-3010LLSL is billed as the industry's smallest and lowest priced 1.5-A low dropout regulator IC, with fast transient response in an SOP-8 package.

The maximum dropout voltage of 300 mV at 1.5 A enables low-voltage difference conversions, such as 1.8 to 1.5 V or 1.5 to 1.2 V, while the low quiescent current of 800 A improves system efficiency. The fast transient response and the use of a low-ESR-output capacitor minimize output voltage dip against transient dynamic output current change, while the integrated thermal and overcurrent protections boost overall system reliability. Also included are enable input to reduce power consumption at standby.
