The internal end is made of brass with a stainless steel external end, the entire assembly weighs 3.4 g. The brass-internal end has an automatic shut-off valve, is only 16.7 mm long, and has a 6-mm hexagonal body.

The stainless steel external end includes a captured O-ring seal that provides a leak-tight connection, is about 11 mm long, and has a 5-mm hexagonal body. Typical applications include instrumentation devices, portable fuel cells, UAV aircraft, and medical and laboratory equipment.
