Lexan Thermoclear clear, multiwall sheets have a nine-wall, X-shaped cross section that forms multiple insulating air pockets between indoor and outdoor environments. The trusslike structure also adds stiffness, strength, and impact resistance. The sheets’ overall heat-transfer coefficient is 1.187 to 0.985 W/m2-K, compared to multipane, argon-filled glass’s U-value of 1.4 W/m2-K. The Thermoclear sheets are also lighter than multipane glass. A proprietary coating on each surface provides UV protection and preserves optical quality.

The material comes in 35, 40, 45, and 50-mm thicknesses. Available colors are opal white, solar-control green, and transparent. A 10-yr limited warranty against discoloration, loss of light transmission, and loss of impact strength due to weathering is available.
