Mechanical Product: Torsional-Damper System

April 10, 2008
The Dual Torsional Damper System is designed to reduce torsional vibration of crankshaft systems in multicylinder vehicle engines.

The dual-mode damper consists of a self-aligning spherical soft-viscous bushing hub connected to a driveshaft and an inertia ring connected to the hub by a polyurethane material layer. The dampers protect engine and transmissions components from excessive wear. Torque capacity of the torsional system is 9,000 lb-ft.
