In-Mold Labeling Workcells

In-Mold Labeling Workcells

In-Mold Labeling (IML) workcells combine molding and labeling. The system molds and decorates parts with perfectly aligned decals, graphics, or printed elements. Labeling flat-panel and wraparound graphics onto prepackaged food, beverages, toys, medical products, and instrument shrouds can also be automated. Each workcell features a six-axis articulated robot or side or top-entry robot. Servodrives on the main axis accurately align labels. Secondary operations are finished during the release and fill cycles of the injection-molding machine. Specialized end-of-arm tooling and electrostatic capabilities can be added so molders can affix labels in the mold.
