New Product: PC/ABS Compounds

March 6, 2008
Five new LNP Faradex compounds feature proprietary fillers for EMI/ RFI shielding.

Compared to traditional metals used for shielding, the polycarbonate and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS)-based compounds weigh less and are easy to shape. Three grades come with non-brominated, non-chlorinated flame retardants (FR) for meeting the E.U.’s WEEE and RoHS environmental directives for enclosures in small or medium-size electronic devices. The two non-FR grades have higher impact resistance than previous LNP Faradex compounds and are candidates for camera housings and audio systems in vehicles.
