9177 Series of insulated displacement connectors (IDCs) handle up to 15 A, come as a single contact version for separate power handling or two-way and three-way configurations, and are rated for use at up to 650 V.

The 9177 Series of insulated displacement connectors (IDCs) handle up to 15 A, are rated for use at up to 650 V, and come as a single contact version for separate power handling or two-way and three-way configurations. For larger pin counts, the devices are end stackable. Parts are surface mounted to a PCB and, using mass-termination tools, stranded (14 to 20-awg) wires are inserted into the contact slot to displace insulation and allow the individual wire conductors to form a homogeneous joint.

When fully inserted, the shape of the molding forms a restraint to the wire’s insulation, strengthening the joint. The connector eliminates the need for hand soldering and cable preparation. Contact material is phosphor bronze, with five reterminations for each individual contact under certain conditions.
