Online Configurator for Assembly Equipment

Oct. 26, 2006
The configurator can be accessed over the Internet. Users must first enter the working space and work piece weight and whether or not rotary movements are necessary.

The configurator then asks for parameters such as rotation angle or the maximum time per movement. Using this data the system works out the components while taking the mass moments of inertia into account. Users can select from a variety of gripper versions, rotary compact modules, and linear axes. At the end of the process the configurator generates a complete parts list that spans cylinder switches and fittings. The user is also given a material number that can designate either a kit with mounting parts or a pre-assembled unit. The system also produces a PDF file covering the parts list, specified application parameters, calculations results, and assembly instructions plus CAD data.
