Perform "What-If" Design Decisions

Nov. 3, 2005
aPriori V3.7, a cost-management software for the discrete manufacturing industry, works with a company's MCAD system to provide designers an iterative tool for "what-if" design trade-offs throughout the entire product-development process.

The software's "cost ticker" displays, on demand, a real-time visual summary of a part's material, labor, direct overhead, and amortized tooling costs. The program can link to ERP or PLM systems or corporate databases through standard XML protocols.
