    A H80R.MAC high-speed rotary spindle and H1680.AC4 variable-speed ac controller, combined with wire-EDM equipment, make possible the production of parts to 0.002-in.

    diameter and surface finishes to Ra 0.2. Unlike grinding, contour shapes program into the EDM controller, eliminating contoured wheels and shortening setup time. Applications include core and ejector pins for micromolds, miniature valve slides, electrodes for sink EDM, and micropump parts.
