Line of resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensors are designed for precise and repeatable measurements. A high signal-tonoise output increases data-transmission accuracy with greater distance between the sensor and measuring equipment. The RTDs operate at –200 to 650°C. A linear change in resistance per degree change in temperature makes signal interpretation easy. Resistance-wire RTDs have a positive coefficient by increasing resistance with temperature increases.
