Thermal Cutoffs

Nov. 17, 2005
Thermal cutoffs now work to a series of new temperature calibrations.

The first series of temperatures include 70°C, 100°C, 172°C, 190°C, and 205°C. The cutoffs, which protect against hazardous overheating conditions, have an active trigger mechanism in a formulated, electrically nonconductive pellet. When a predetermined temperature is reached, the pellet melts and allows the compression to relax. A trip spring slides the contact away from the lead and opens the circuit. MicroTemp cutoffs are available for loads up to 25 A/250 Vac.
