Threaded Fastener For Plastics

Dec. 9, 2004
Deltaform threaded inserts reportedly provide twice the torque-out strength of threadforming screws and eliminate cross threading during installation.

Key design features include retention barbs that give the fastener easier insertion into round holes and help prevent inserts from spinning when installed. Flange tabs on both ends orient inserts in holes before installation and form flush surfaces with plastic. The brass inserts resist corrosion and can be installed using cold-pressing, ultrasonic welding, and heat staking. They come in thread size #6 to 32 and are available loose or on a carrier strip.
