Threadlocking Gel

April 1, 2005
Threadlocker Gel locks and seals while preventing parts from loosening.

It protects threads from corrosion, cures in about 15 min, and handles temperatures from 65 to 300°F. A pin-point applicator puts gel precisely where needed, even in hard-to-reach and vertical applications. Unlike liquid threadlockers, the gel does not drip or leak. And it does not need to be forced into threads like solid-stick methods. Medium-strength Blue Gel locks 0.25 to 1.0-in. nuts and bolts and disassembles with normal hand tools. High-strength Red Gel handles heavy-duty 0.38 to 1.0-in. high-stress nuts and bolts and eliminates the need for mechanical locking devices such as lock washers, serrated flange nuts, and ribbed flange bolts. Removal may require heat or special tools.
