Tiny IR Phototransistor

Jan. 12, 2006
Targeted for machineautomationapplications, miniature optical encoders, and other high-speed noncontact position-sensing systems, the OP520 and OP521 Series of IR phototransistors provide IR detection in a 1206-chip package.

The surface-mount devices have a response time of 15 m sec with a peak response to 880-m m wavelength light. Transistor characteristics include a Vce of 30 V, Ic of 20 mA, and a Pd of 75 mW at 25°C. The units are RoHS compliant and are compatible with high-temperature soldering processes. Operating temperatures range from 25 to 85°C.
