UV and heat curable epoxy

Oct. 26, 2006
A one-part epoxy, UV15DC80, bonds to metals, glass, ceramics and most plastics. The low-viscosity, 100% solids compound needs no mixing and is solvent and volatile-free.

Its not inhibited by oxygen and shrinks little as it cures to a 70 Shore D hardness. It cures in shadowed areas by supplemental heat curing (80degreeC for 15 to 30 min) or under 365-nm UV light and an energy output of 30 to 40 mW/cm2. Faster cures are possible at higher energy outputs. The epoxy sports good chemical resistance, an elongation of up to 4%, a tensile strength of over 4.2 kpsi, and a 1.517 refractive index.
