The Model 820 video photometer measures absolute brightness of any size sample or scene and provides quantitative data.

The Model 820 video photometer measures absolute brightness of any size sample or scene and provides quantitative data. The photometer from Tricor Systems Inc., Elgin, Ill., measures the performance of lamps, LEDs, backlit panels, and control switches. It also quantifies paint reflectance, hemispherical reflectance, micropitting, mirror reflective haze, and other appearance characteristics. The 820 produces a 640 X 480-pixel image with a digitized 256 grayscale. Analysis tools include Eyeppearance software, which establishes photometric levels for an image. An interface offers menu options for grayscale-image analysis. When calibration transform file is loaded, the software translates relative gray levels into absolute radiometric levels. Pixel radiance and histogram distributions are given in photopic units.
