The In-Sight 1700 wafer reader, a compact machinevision sensor, combines ID software and image processing to identify and track semiconductor wafers through the manufacturing process. The unit can horizontally or vertically mount, needs no mechanical adjustments, and can integrate with a range of fab equipment, including wafer handlers, sorters, probers, metrology tools, laser markers, and ion-implant systems. Default recipe screens let users set up ID applications quickly and easily without programming. In-Sight 1700 uses advanced OCR, 2D matrix, and bar-coderecognition algorithms to read softmarked, supersoftmarked, or hardmarked Semi standard codes on the front or back side of a wafer.
