Tomorrow I head to Singapore, an island just off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, and the smallest nation in Southeast Asia. Three journalists, myself included, are to tour various medical-manufacturing facilites around the city-state. Luckily, there will be plently of time to see the sights too, including a jaunt into Malaysia. People have given me several interesting-sounding tips so far: visit the "hawker" food stand for the best and cheapest food in the world; get a foot massage; go to the Singapore Zoo; and drink "Singapore Slings" at the famous Raffles bar. I'm game for anything, including riding an elephant, another possiblity in that exotic clime! Stay tuned for more to come, including plenty of pictures! (I will also describe the factories, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities.)
