JK Lasers tells us they celebrated the Fourth by ablating a special message using a 400-W, single-mode continuous wave fiber laser and scan head. The red-and-blue-anodised aluminium plates are 1-mm thick and were ablated at a scan speed of 3m per second (1 pass).
