Special Rings: Self-Locking, Balanced and ID/OD Lock

Every retaining ring application is unique. Sometimes an application will require some extra features that a standard retaining ring simply can’t provide. This whitepaper will cover special rings for special applications.

Certain retaining ring applications require much higher rotational capacity than that of a standard ring. Other applications call for a locking mechanism to ensure two mating components are held together while still rotating freely. Luckily, retaining rings come in endless shapes, sizes and with special features so that the appropriate retaining ring can be used for every unique application.
