Bosch Rexroth, Lohr, Germany, recently acquired the Dutch company Nyquist BV, a provider of industrial motion control solutions for the semiconductor and medical manufacturing industries.

The acquisition gives Bosch Rexroth the full capability to supply complete motion control solutions for the semiconductor and medical manufacturing markets, two industries typically served by companies offering only individual components. The acquisition complements Bosch Rexroth's existing linear motion and pneumatic systems groups.

Wolfgang Dangel, president and CEO of Bosch Rexroth in North America, estimates strong growth in the semiconductor OEM and medical manufacturing markets, due to increasing tendencies for machine builders to outsource their motion control needs.

“By adding Nyquist's products we can offer solutions not just as individual components, but also as combined products all from one source to help OEMs streamline their machine design, engineering, supply chain, and assembly needs,” says Dangel.
