Baumer Electric Ltd., Southington, Conn. (www.baumerelectric.com), a manufacturer of sensors for industrial automation, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary. The company was founded in 1952 and is headquartered in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Baumer has global sales of $155 million and is represented in 31 countries. Seven wholly owned subsidiaries are located in the U.S., Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, Sweden, and Canada. Baumer Electric sensors are used in the material-handling, conveying, packaging, textile-manufacturing, printing, machine-tool, automation/robotics, aircraft, and electronic/semiconductor industries.
