New Products: Medical-Device Adhesive

Oct. 23, 2008
MD 1000 Series adhesives are designed for quick bonding with visiblelight LED systems.

The adhesives are solvent-free and resist moisture and humidity. Available viscosities permit gap filling. The adhesives are said to replace ultrasonic welding by providing a strong bond for plastic joints with overlaps, flanges, or tabs. They are USP Class IV and ISO-10993 certified for medical-device applications.

The company’s BlueWave LED system emits a narrow-band of visible light centered on 410-nm wavelength. Top output of 2,500 mW/cm2 in an 8-mm diameter spot lets Blue- Wave cure the MD 1000 adhesives quickly and at cooler temperatures.
