Portescap is displaying its miniature and specialty motor offerings at the Pacific Design & Manufacturing Show (Booth 2497). In addition to other medical applications, attendees can learn about the firm’s sterilizable brushless DC motors (BLDCs) for surgical power hand tool design.

Portescap has more than 20 years of experience in surgical power hand tool applications designing and developing sterilizable motor solutions. Its design solutions provide high efficiency for low thermal rise in the surgeon’s hand for tools such as arthroscopic and ENT shavers, ENT and spine drills, and orthopedic drills and saws (joint replacement).

Portescap sensored solutions are designed to withstand up to 3,000 autoclave cycles. Designs offer high torque and speed for increased hand tool power for shorter surgery cases.
