The M1 Wave electronic bore gage from Marposs Corp., Auburn Hills, Mich., uses Bluetooth wireless technology in a handheld measuring device that is reportedly accurate, durable, and easy to operate.

It eliminates cables found on traditional electronic gages, thus overcoming problems such as limited length, entanglement, and breakage. This also frees the operator to make measurements without restricting movements. The electronic plug gauge connects directly to a special handle containing a Bluetooth transmitter and power supply with standard C batteries. Pressing a button transmits measurements to a receiver for display or storage.
