This month, we review some of the latest motion control offerings compatible with IEC 61131-3 programming.

Mechatronic control system works with IEC 61131-3 MotionWorks IEC Mechatronic Control System features software that is fully compatible with the global programming standards specified by IEC 61131-3 and PLCopen. The system also includes the MP2300Siec controller, offering EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/ IP, and Mechatrolink network connectivity for up to 16 axes of motion control. MotionWorks software incorporates PLCopen function blocks for motion control — standard code libraries that store previously written logic, significantly reducing development time. Dual-port Ethernet controller simplifies connectivity Designed for networking convenience and versatility, the 750-871 Ethernet TCP/IP 2-port programmable fieldbus controller links the WAGO- I/O system to the Ethernet fieldbus. Two RJ-45 fieldbus connection ports provide daisychaining capability for up to 20 devices (as far as 100 m) within one series. The controller is programmable in accordance with IEC 61131-3 and features an integrated dipswitch for IP address assignment. A batterybacked, real-time clock and 32-bit multitasking CPU allow the controller to reliably support a variety of applications. The IndraControl L10 PLC features scalable hardware, pre-developed machine functions, reusable code, and unified programming software to reduce engineering time for machine builders who work with complex equipment. Servo drive teams up with IEC 61131-3 programming The SMLC-SA combines high-performance drive technology with the IEC 61131-3 programming capabilities of the SMLC controller. Standard PLCopen motion control function blocks reduce software development time, and application-specific function blocks such as “reciprocating flying shear” and “rotary knife” are available as outof- the-box solutions. The SA230 series offers eight models with continuous output current from 2.5 to 60 A RMS/phase for 115 to 230 Vac input. The SA460 series offers six models with continuous output current from 5 to 50 A RMS/phase for 230 to 460 Vac input.
