Video Insights: Near-Future Plans for Quantum Computing

Dec. 14, 2021
A conversation with Sarah Boen, director of Strategic Technology at Tektronix.

As director of Strategic Technology at Tektronix, Sarah Boen is tasked with answering one question: What will technology look like in five or 10 years?

Boen’s 20 years of industry experience across semiconductors, communications, education and defense markets gives her the requisite backing to interrogate the question and to help drive technology innovation at Tektronix, a manufacturer of test and measurement solutions.

In this interview with Machine Design, Boen dons her futurist cap to respond to questions on:

  • Maturing technologies (including the convergence of hardware and software, the use of AI and quantum computing) that will have real impact over the next or 10 years.
  • Opportunities for sensors, communication and computation.
  • Protecting data from cyberattacks.
