Thin is in for this motor

Jan. 10, 2008
NuvoDisc motors from Portescap, a Danaher Motion company based in West Chester, Pa. (portescap.com), measure only 11.8-mm thick with a 32-mm diameter.

They can spin at 50,000 rpm and generate 10 mN-m. Its slotless design reduces cogging and makes for smoother operations, and an optional slotted version generates detent torque. The motor is also said to draw less current than other motors, reducing power requirements and heat.
