Powder-metal group puts the call out for innovative designs

The Metal Powder Industries Federation, Princeton, N.J., has opened this year's International P/M Design Competition for outstanding designs of commercial powder-metal (P/M) parts.

The Metal Powder Industries Federation, Princeton, N.J. (mpif.org), has opened this year's International P/M Design Competition for outstanding designs of commercial powder-metal (P/M) parts. Entries from Federation members and their customers compete in the following categories: ferrous, nonferrous, stainless-steel, and advanceparticulate materials, as well as injection-molded parts, innovative functional assemblies, and overseas. Judging is based on design configuration, engineering properties, and promotional value to the P/M industry. Entries must be received no later than April 1. Winners will be announced at an awards luncheon held during the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, June 19-23, Montreal, Canada.
