Thinner stainless-steel filter screens offer more strength and more-uniform hole size compared to their wire-mesh counterparts because they are photochemically etched from a solid piece of stainless steel. This improves dimensional stability and reliability over time and in demanding environments. The filters are on 0.025-mm-thick stainless steel, with 0.055-mm-diameter holes for volume production. Prototypes are available with even smaller hole sizes.

Applications include screen-print stencils, hydraulic valves, medical devices, particle separation, sugar filtration, and other critical filter processes.
