Ultrastiff clear structural sheets - SABIC

April 30, 2011
The sheets are designed for stadium construction.

Ultra-Stiff Lexan Thermoclear sheet has a three-wall X-structure to withstand wind and snow loading pressures of up to 2,200 N/m2, equivalent to wind speeds up to 125 mph. Its impact resistance is up to 250x that of glass. It complies with with CC1 (ASTM D635) and Class A (ASTM E-84) smoke and fire ratings. Both sides are treated with proprietary ultraviolet (UV) protection against outdoor weathering, and the sheets maintain color, light transmission, and impact strength through 10 years of outdoor exposure according to acelerated 4,000-hour weathering tests (DIN53387 / ASTM G26).
The sheets come in clear, opal white, solar-control blue, bronze, gray, two green shades, and other colors with a variety of specialty coatings.
