The new PLIS-1 fiber-optic end tip with integrated precision sideview lens is an ultraminiature 3 3-mm tip featuring a low-beam divergence angle of just 2° for reliable sensing of small-profile targets such as semiconductor wafer mapping.

The new PLIS-1 fiber-optic end tip with integrated precision sideview lens is an ultraminiature 3 3-mm tip featuring a low-beam divergence angle of just 2° for reliable sensing of small-profile targets such as semiconductor wafer mapping. Fibers can easily embed in wafer handlers, end effectors, and space-limited machine geometries and suit applications requiring low-contrast, opposed-mode fibers with a more collimated sensing beam than traditional plastic fibers. Features include a long range and an ability to be cut in the field. Low-profile adjustable brackets are included. The device comes in a rugged stainless-steel housing, a polycarbonate reflector/lens, and a Santoprene strain relief.
