DIP Rotaries With Metal Shafts And Dial Actuators

Jan. 11, 2007
The FR Series of 10-mm ultrathin DIP rotary switches now offers dial and metal-shaft actuator options for through-hole devices.

Dial-actuated versions can be manually adjusted by hand or with a flat-tipped screwdriver. Positions on them are clearly and numerically marked. The metal-shaft option lets engineers choose from various size knobs and multiple-colored tips. The DIP rotaries meet the RoHs directive restricting the use of hazardous substances. Heat-resistant resins are UL94V-0 and suited to lead-free solder processing. The 10-mm switches are 3.8-mm tall, which allows close stacking of PC boards. The FR switches are available in real or complement codes, decimal and hexadecimal configurations. Electrical capacity switching rating is 100 mA at 5V dc and nonswitching rating is 100 mA at 50 Vdc. Contact reliability is ensured with movable, cam-activated gold contact.
